The Martin/Wade family has been adventuring in the wild for nearly 30 years.
Their collective journeys to 5 continents incorporate both cultural and backcountry adventures. Backpacking, exploring the nooks and crannies of 30+ national parks in the US and Canada through extended road trips this family has done it all. All 4 children backpacked before they could walk and camped in all conditions. Their long distance hiking dossier includes the The Coast to Coast in England, the El Camino de Santiago, and of course the Appalachian Trail. |
Virginia skis for the Special Olympics and has one several gold medals. She is preparing to ski for the USA in Austria in March, 2017. Check out the Martin/Wade blogs
The Fagan Family has biked across Tanzania, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, rafted down the Grand Canyon, kayaked the Broken Islands, circumnavigated Mount St. Helens and trekked to Everest Base Camp together. When Chris and Marty daringly set off on an expedition to the South Pole, they cleverly incorporated their 12-year old son, Keenan, and their community into the experience. In January of 2014, they became the first married Americans to ski 570 miles from the edge of Antarctica to the South Pole – completely unsupported – hauling 220-pound sleds for 10 hours a day for 48 days. Adventure has been a core value of this family, and a way to deeply connect while in the wild.
